YESSIR! Texas A&M gets two WR commitments in one day

Jalen Preston, Caleb Chapman join the Aggies' 2018 recruiting class

Student Sports

In a few short days, summer recruiting comes to an end and fall camp begins, but A&M is ending the recruiting period with a bang thanks to two Saturday commitments: three-star Caleb Chapman from Friendswood Clear Brook, and four-star Jalen Preston from Manvel.

The 6'5", 202-pount Chapman is currently rated as the #61 recruit in the state of Texas. He also holds scholarship offers from Oregon, Nebraska, Missouri, Mississippi State, TCU and Texas Tech, among others.

The 6’1”, 202-pound Preston is rated as the sixth-best recruit in the state of Texas and the 11th-best receiver in the country by 247 Sports. Though Preston has been rumored to favor the Aggies for quite some time, he held an impressive offer list that included Baylor, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Oklahoma, Penn State, TCU and Texas. Preston joins Manvel teammates Deneric Price and Brian Johnson, who committed to Texas A&M earlier this year.

Preston becomes the highest-rated commit in Texas A&M’s 2018 recruiting class, which now stands at 15 commitments. Today's commitments moves Texas A&M’s recruiting class up to 10th nationally, and third in the SEC behind Tennessee and LSU.
