Aggies picked to finish 5th in SEC West, 9th overall

Aggies do not lie, cheat or steal, nor tolerate those who disrespect them in meaningless polls

The SEC released the preseason media predictions today, and well, let’s just say Texas A&M should learn to relish the underdog role. The Aggies are projected to finish fifth in the SEC West, behind Alabama, Auburn, LSU, and Arkansas (raises eyebrow), and 9th in the conference overall (finishing ahead of only Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Missouri and Vanderbilt).

The media is clearly running with Kevin Sumlin’s hotseat talk, and while the judgement of this team will be more nuanced than simple wins and losses, this kind of finish would likely precipitate a coaching change in College Station.

There is a bit of good news for the Ags, with Christian Kirk (receiver, kick returner, all purpose) and Armani Watts both being named to the All-SEC first team. Offensive lineman Koda Martin was also named to the third team. Looks like Coach Sumlin chose his SEC Media Days attendees wisely.
