If the start of SEC Media Days didn’t convince you that college football is right around the corner, then watchlist season sure as heck will. All of the watchlists from the National College Football Awards Association (NCFAA) will be published in the next 10 days, and it started Monday with the release of the lists for the Maxwell (best player) and Bednarik (best defensive player) awards.
Notably for Texas A&M, junior receiver Christian Kirk and sophomore running back Trayveon Williams both made the Maxwell Award list, while senior safety Armani Watts made the Bednarik Award list. Kirk and Watts will both be at SEC Media Days when the Aggies take the stage on Wednesday.
A full list of the watchlists release dates is below. Be sure to check back daily as literally (figuratively) every player in college football is nominated for something.
In addition to the start of #SECMD17, we start our preseason watch list rollout on Monday with @MaxwellFootball's Bednarik & Maxwell lists. pic.twitter.com/TuUJrvXfGl
