I’m not going to pretend that I get invested in every Texas A&M sport, but when a team is playing for a national title, it’s time to take notice. That’s exactly what the Texas A&M softball team will do as they play their first game in the Women’s College World Series today in Oklahoma City. Texas A&M (47-11) take on the top-seeded Florida Gators (55-8) at 11 a.m., which can be seen on ESPN. This is the first time these two teams have faced each other this season.

This is Texas A&M Softball’s first Women’s College World Series appearance since 2008. They got here by winning the College Station Regional (dispatching with UT), before coming back to take two straight games against the real UT in the Knoxville Super Regional on Memorial Day weekend.
Just like baseball, this is a double-elimination tournament. The winner of today’s game will face the winner of UCLA/LSU (and the loser plays the loser of UCLA/LSU in an elimination game). The full bracket can be viewed here.
