Cleveland Browns Beat Writer: Myles Garrett Will Be The First Overall Pick

If Mary Kay Cabot is reporting it, you know it’s true.

Citing multiple league sources, Browns beat writer Mary Kay Cabot has confirmed that Myles Garrett will be the #1 overall selection in tonight’s NFL Draft.

The Browns seemed torn between Garrett and University of North Carolina Quarterback Mitch Trubisky for the first pick up, but are looking to trade other picks in order to land both players:

“Instead, the Browns have been working the phones and will continue to try to trade up for Trubisky from No. 12. They also have the No. 33 and No. 52 overall picks. But they won't panic or overspend to get him. Head of football operations Sashi Brown told NFL Network on Wednesday "we're not desperate for a quarterback.”

Garrett has been vocal in his desire to be the #1 pick overall, saying that he’d go out of his way to take out his frustration on Browns were he not selected.

“And because if you don’t draft me No. 1, I will punish your team for the next 10 to 12 years. I’ll knock your QB out of the game every time we play you, and I’ll have to kick the hell out of No. 1, whoever it is.”

Looks like the Browns wont have to worry about that.

Myles Garrett would become the first ever Texas A&M Football player selected with the first overall pick.
