In an overwhelmingly “meh” Texas A&M Basketball season, we had one outstanding bright spot.

Robert Williams capped a spectacular freshman season by cleaning up at today’s SEC post-season award announcement.

Here’s the final tally:

  • SEC Defensive Player of the Year
  • SEC All-Freshman Team

Williams was certainly worthy of the accolades, averaging 12 points, 56% shooting, 8 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks (2nd in the SEC and 19th in the nation) per game. Tyler Davis made an appearance in the awards as well, garnering Second Team All-SEC honors.
