Jimbo Fisher and the Texas A&M Aggies hosted a slew of recruits on campus this weekend, and saw immediate results as they extended a scholarship offer and received a commitment from junior college tight end Jace Sternberger. He becomes the first official commit in the Jimbo Fisher era at A&M.

The tight end position stands to be utilized more under Fisher than it was under Kevin Sumlin (by default), and the 6'4", 240-pound Sternberger is rated as the third-best junior college tight end in the country. After going to Kansas out of high school, Sternberger transferred to Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, where he had 336 receiving yards and six touchdowns in 2017.
Sternberger is the Aggies' 15th commit in the 2018 class, a number that will likely grow as the early signing period nears later this month.
