Caught this one on TV on Fox Sports SW. Tech announcers were, um, interesting.
Texas Tech shot 100% from the field in the first 3:31 of the Women’s Bouncy Ball game on Sunday afternoon in Lubbock. Unfortunately for the Lady Raiders, that was 1/1 after turnovers on 4 straight possessions leading to a 10-0 A&M lead before Recee Caldwell hit a 3 pointer. The score after 1 quarter was 34-5 despite 0 points from Khaalia Hillsman. Jasmine Lumpkin hit was scoring, Danni Williams was hitting 3s, and Tech couldn’t stop Chennedy Carter on drives. Anriel Howard hit 2 3-pointers!
Tech never really mounted a serious run even though the Ags cooled off after the first quarter. Coach Blair got significant minutes from the bench but often had a sub working with 3-4 starters.
A&M transfer Jada Terry fouled out before the 3rd quarter was over. I thought the one bright spot for Tech Coach Candi Whitaker was the play of 6th woman 6-5 Soph F Brittany Brewer, who had 12 points, 7 boards, and 4 blocked shots.

Up next
The Ags finish the month of November by playing Tues and Wed night at home. I’ll probably only do one writeup for both.
- Prairie View (2-3) - Tues Nov 28, 2017
- Rice - Wed Nov 29, 2017
- Both at Reed at 7PM
- Both will stream on SECN+ and be on 1150AM/102.7FM for local radio.
The Prairie View Panthers opened by beating UT-Tyler and Arlington Baptist and then lost 3 in a row on the road. The last two were part of the Feast of Sharing Tournament at UT-Rio Grande Valley, which were Saturday and Sunday.
Rice opened the season with 5 wins but suffered their first loss on Sunday at Kansas.
