WOO, MONDAY. We’re ten days out from Turkey Day and the season is rapidly slipping away. Time to bloviate on some bowl predictions and get haughty.
SB Nation’s got us going to the Music City Bowl to face off against Indiana. Y’all remember Indiana- they’re that B1G team that sometimes gets close to beating one of the traditional powerhouses only to implode in the most absurdly comical ways imaginable.
CBS, saint among sports entities, has us going to the Belk Bowl to play Wake Forest. The Belk Bowl has one of the finest Twitter accounts in the game. To play in the Belk Bowl would be a tremendous honor for many of us at this website. Shop at Belk, it’s good.
Sports Illustrated has us going Music City, but playing Iowa. So does Yahoo! This game would feature double digit punts and fewer than 10 cumulative points at the half. Iowa fans would love to get away to balmy Nashville during the winter months, so the 12th Man had better show up in force for Midnight Yell at the Grand Ole Opry brought to you by Slovacek Sausage™.
ESPN guys have us playing Iowa State in either the Texas Bowl or the Liberty Bowl. What a treat it would be to play a team from our former conference for the fourth time in the past six bowl games! What the Aggie Internet really needs is another full month of coaching search nerds gushing over Matt Campbell, only to have him crushed mercilessly by a team coached by the vacated memory of Kevin Sumlin. Happy Holidays.
So, what do we think? Road trip to Tennessee or hope that we can just bum a ride to Houston and crash on someone’s couch? The options are enticing either way. Maybe we’ll just cut work at the last minute, take out a wad of cash, and head for the casinos in Bossier instead.
