Preview/GameThread: Texas A&M vs. Georgia

The 4-2 Bulldogs come to town for a Saturday morning battle at Reed Arena, and they've effectively become the benchmark for the 2nd tier in the conference. If we want to win, we'll have to punch above our weight. (11am; ESPN2)

Things were staring to look up on Tuesday night... when an unexpected (okay, it was kinda expected) scoring drought sent the Aggies spiraling to their fifth loss in six games.

The season is starting to look a little bleak, and it doesn't get any easier today.

Georgia has played solid ball in January, with their only two losses (vs. SC; @ Florida) coming against top three SEC squads. Put simply, they'll expect to win today.

Time: 11:00am

Location: Reed Arena

TV: ESPN2

Line: Texas A&M is favored by 3 points (wait what)

****************

Over the past few years, Georgia has been consistently good. Never good enough to make any real noise, but always good enough to finish comfortably in the top half of the conference. Their recipe is usually pretty simple, too.... beat the bad teams, and lose to the good teams. It's not a bad strategy in the world of #SECBasketballFever, which has far fewer 'top tier' programs than just about anyone.

Case in point: Last year, we went to Athens and delivered a 34 point beating. We were damn good last year, and we proved that we belonged north of the Georgia Line. This year, I'm not so sure. This year, I think we're going to make our home a little south of Georgia's "you must be this tall to enter the bubble conversation" billboard.

I think this Bulldog team is going to smell blood in the water, and I think they'll come out with a victory.

I hope I'm wrong. I really, really want to be wrong.
