Texas A&M confirmed the uniform rumors on Wednesday, as they unveiled their 1956 throwback uniforms they will wear when they take on South Carolina at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1.

The no-nonsense design features an all-white uniform with maroon numbers and maroon northwestern stripes on the shoulders, white pants, white socks and black cleats. The helmet is white with maroon stripe down the center. Two interesting helmet details are the stripe extending onto the front bumper, and the facemask being white save for the two middle bars in gray (to mimic the two-bar facemasks of yore).

The uniforms honor the 1956 Texas A&M squad, led by Paul "Bear" Bryant and featuring future Heisman Trophy winner John David Crow, that went 9-0-1 en route to a Southwest Conference Title 60 years ago.
I took a crack at guessing what the throwback uniforms would look like back in July, and if you don’t mind me saying so, I came pretty darn close:
