Texas A&M Men’s Basketball released their 2016-2017 non-conference schedule on Tuesday afternoon.

Date Day Opponent Location
11/4/16 Friday (Exhibition) Saint Edward's College Station

11/11

Friday Northwestern State College Station
11/14 Monday American College Station
11/18 Friday USC College Station
11/24 Thursday Cal State Northridge Fullerton, CA
11/25 Friday New Mexico/Virginia Tech Fullerton, CA
11/27 Sunday TBD Fullerton, CA
12/5 Monday A&M-Corpus Christi College Station
12/7 Wednesday Denver College Station
12/10 Saturday South Carolina State College Station
12/17 Saturday Arizona Houston
12/21 Wednesday Saint Francis College Station
1/28 Saturday West Virginia Morgantown, WV

The 2016-2017 title defense begins with a two very likely home wins against Northwestern State and American, before ramping up significantly with a visit from USC.

Note: The squads have already announced a return game at USC next season

The Aggies will then hit the DirecTV Wooden Legacy tournament over the Thanksgiving break, starting with a favorable draw against Cal State Northridge.

December softens up considerably, with three very likely home victories (A&M-CC; Denver, SCSU) in a span of six days. That condensed schedule will give us a full week off before the biggest game of the non-conference slate: December 17th against Arizona.

The game will be played at the Toyota Center as part of a double header that also includes Arkansas/Texas, so start the chant and whatnot.

A&M gets one last tune-up home game against St. Francis before the start of SEC play, and they’ll take a tricky, tricky trip to West Virginia as part of the Big XII/SEC challenge on January 28th.

All in all, it’s a real solid non-conference scheduling effort by Billy Kennedy and Texas A&M.

Quick note from the formal 12thman.com release

The full schedule of SEC competition is expected to be announced in the coming weeks, as will game times and television information for the Aggies' non-conference games.

We’re under 100 days away from basketball season, friends. Kyle Field will dominate your attention in the coming weeks, as it should... but keep an eye on that large tan building across the tracks.

We’ve got another good season brewing.
