Aggie Football has been recruiting at a high clip over the past two months, but linebacker Devodrick Johnson stunted the momentum a bit by decommitting on Monday following a visit to Texas.

Johnson is a dual-threat QB in high school, projected to play outside linebacker in college. He carries a 4-star composite rating on 247Sports. Linebacker remains a position of great need for the Aggie defense.
Update 5:11 PM:
Texas’ 247Sports website reports that Johnson attributed his decommitment to the Chalk Talk incident at Texas A&M.
“I’m decommitting because of the situation that happened with the women’s clinic,” Johnson said. “I’m just making sure I’m making the right decision. At the end of the day, I’m making a 40-year decision. It’s based on my whole life.
“I still love Texas A&M, but I want to think things through. They are still a school that I’m really high on, and I’m still considering them.”
