What better way to go out with a bang this offseason than adding YET ANOTHER defensive line commitment? The Aggies did so on Friday when they secured the commitment of 2017 3-star defensive end Tyree Johnson from St. John’s College High School in Washington, DC. Johnson’s commitment comes just hours after defensive tackle Jayden Peevy also committed to Texas A&M.

The 6’4”, 230-pound Johnson goes to the same high school where Texas A&M snagged tight end/receiver Aaron Hansford in 2016. Maryland was the Aggies’ primary competition for his services, though he held offers from Louisville, Miami, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, and others. Johnson is the Aggies’ 18th commit in the 2017 recruiting class.
