Texas A&M Football not in AP Top 25, play 5 of top 16 teams

The Aggies are just outside the rankings but face plenty of quality opponents

NCAA Football: SEC Media Day Butch Dill-USA TODAY Sports

The Associated Press released their first poll of the 2016 season this morning, and Texas A&M is not in the top 25.

Seven different teams received first-place votes in this year’s preseason poll: Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, Oklahoma, LSU, Ohio State, and Michigan. The Aggies will face a total of 5 teams in the top 16: #1 Alabama, #5 LSU, #9 Tennessee, #11 Ole Miss, and #16 UCLA.

Texas A&M is second in the “others receiving votes” category behind Miami (FL).
