Another preseason day closer to the season, and another preseason list/team/award. CBS Sports released their All-American teams today, and Myles Garrett was one of five players to be a unanimous first-team selection. Garrett joined LSU safety Jamal Adams, Florida CB Jalen Taylor, and Alabama’s duo of linebacker Tim Williams and defensive end Jonathan Allen as the SEC players represented on the first team defense.
Wide receiver Christian Kirk was also named to the second team. He was one of only four sophomores selected as pre-season All-Americans by CBS Sports. The SEC was on top with 12 first-team picks as the Big Ten (6), ACC (5) and Pac-12 (4) fell in line behind it. In addition to Texas A&M’s SEC foes, UCLA had two players named to the second team: OL Conor McDermott and DT Eddie Vanderdoes.
Texas A&M’s football season begins September 3rd.
