With much left to prove, this might be the strongest team in Aggie baseball history.
The No. 1 team in the land tallied the most players on the Baseball America All-America list and the most in A&M history. Infielders Ryne Birk and Boomer White made the First Team while pitchers Mark Ecker and Brigham Hill made the Second Team.
Birk and White have remarkably similar stat lines on the year and both are elite as hell:
Avg. | Runs | Doubles | Home Runs | RBIs | Stolen Bases | |
Ryne Birk | .318 | 50 | 14 | 7 | 44 | 8 |
Boomer White | .398 | 49 | 18 | 5 | 46 | 10 |
Ecker and Hill have both been superb on the bump. Ecker has an ERA that looks like a typo or rounding error at 0.42. Hill has a sub-2.00 ERA and averages more than one K per inning.
Congratulations to these incredible players. Thanks for making our Spring and early Summer so kickass.
