Head Coach Kevin Sumlin got potentially the biggest commitment of the 2017 class on Monday evening when four-star quarterback Kellen Mond committed to the Aggies. Mond, originally from San Antonio but now attending IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, is the #3 dual-threat quarterback and the #78 overall recruit in the country, according to 247 Sports. He is currently the highest-rated member of the Aggies 2017 recruiting class.

Mond, a former Baylor commit, joins IMG Academy teammate Santino Marchiol, who committed to A&M on June 21.
Following the infamous decommitment of Tate Martell, the Aggies now have the commitment of a quarterback who, at 6’3”, is the more prototypical size that new Offensive Coordinator Noel Mazzone seems to lean toward. Connor Blumrick, A&M’s other 2017 quarterback commit, is 6’6”.
Take a look at Mond’s junior year highlights during his time at San Antonio Reagan.
