Texas A&M lost to Vanderbilt 6-5 on Wednesday with the winning run coming off a solo homerun in the top of the 9th inning. The Aggies bounced back on Thursday with a nice 4-1 win versus a salty South Carolina squad in the losers' bracket. Brigham Hill gave A&M a solid outing, allowing just five hits and one run over seven innings.
The Aggies face elimination again today in a rematch versus Vanderbilt. A&M beat Vanderbilt in a home series during the regular season two games to one. Kyle Simonds, who recorded a no-hitter against Vanderbilt this season, is expected to get the start for the Aggies. The game airs at 3:00 pm on the SEC Network.
If A&M beats Vanderbilt, they will face Ole Miss on Saturday with a chance to advance to the championship. The Aggies are already a lock, by most accounts, to earn a national seed in the NCAA tournament, but making the weekend of the conference tourney would be a great accomplishment in this league of death.
