Banks, Gideon Earn Preseason All-America Honors

In light of all of this #CROOTIN going on, we've got ourselves some preseason All-Americans on the diamond.

Late yesterday afternoon, Baseball America released their preseason All-America teams, which included a couple of well-known Aggie baseballers. OF Nick Banks was named to the second team, and DH Ronnie Gideon was tabbed as a third team infielder.

Last season, both Banks and Gideon were key pieces of Rob Childress' Aggies, as both hit 7+ home runs and drove in over 40 runs. Banks also hit .364, which ranked fourth in the SEC.

As you can imagine, Banks and Gideon both figure to play an important offensive part to the Aggies' success this season, so seeing them named to an All-America roster is well deserved. Banks also received All-America mention, along with closers Mark Ecker and Ryan Hendrix, on the Collegiate Baseball and D1Baseball.com lists respectively.

Needless to say, there is a lot of excitement around the Top 5 Texas A&M baseball team heading into the 2016 season.
