Preview/GameThread: Texas A&M vs. UT

It's here. #SECBasketballFever is here. Texas A&M (8-3; 0-0) hosts the Tennessee Volunteers (6-5; 0-0) in the conference opener for both teams. UT has put quite a scare into a couple of Top 25 teams this year, but the Aggies should prevail at home tonight. (6:00pm; SEC Network)

We're back, y'all. Our thoughts on the first six weeks of the season are available here, if you're looking to get caught up ahead of the conference slate.

In short: Our ceiling is still very high, but our floor is a bit lower than we all anticipated.

But enough about that... UT is in town, and it's time for #SECBasketballFever

Time: 6:00pm

Location: Reed Arena

TV: SEC Network

Line: Texas A&M is favored by 9 points

Name: Tennessee Volunteers

Official Abbreviation: UT

Wait, doesn't that oth- Nope

Previous results of note: The Vols haven't claimed any victories of value, yet... but they've also been very competitive in their games against quality opposition. Gonzaga, Wisconsin, @ North Carolina, and Oregon were all in doubt with less than four minutes remaining... so this doesn't appear to be a squad that will roll over tonight.

What do we need to do to win: Tonight's edict is pretty straightforward - play to our strengths. We'll have a size advantage in most SEC games, but that advantage is especially noticeable tonight. The Vols just don't have the horses down low.

Keep an eye on Tennessee PG Jordan Bone - he opened the season as the starter, but he has been out for nine games with a foot injury. He's rumored to return tonight, which could complicate a likely SEC-opening victory for the good guys.
