In a league that demands conformity in nearly every way, Von Miller continues to be one the most unique, compelling, and likable NFL players in the modern era.
Von got the Christmas spirit going early by giving a special bottle of wine to many of his NFL colleagues. Every player in the AFC West - from starters to practice squad and IR - got a gift from Miller. It’s a special wine with labeling that is uniquely Miller. An extra 100 bottles will be auctioned off to support Miller’s charity that provides eyeglasses for children.
The gesture was coupled with a heartfelt note from Miller:
It is an honor and a privilege to take the field and compete with you twice a year. We are so fortunate to have this opportunity to fulfill our childhood dreams of playing in the NFL. The blood, sweat, aches and pains, and endless hours spent watching film are a testament to the love and dedication we have for this game. So take a moment, reflect on all your successes, and enjoy your accomplishment. Appreciate those who have helped you get this far, and start working towards your next childhood dream.
Thank you for helping to make our game great!— Von Miller
The soulless Roger Goodell will spend millions on an all-encompassing branding campaign to sell you on Football is Family. Von showed that a personal touch is usually the best bet.
Gig ‘em, Von. Thanks for being your wild, one-of-a-kind self and representing A&M so well. Thanks for always reminding us that football is fun.
Philip Rivers, Derek Carr, and Alex Smith might appreciate that wine after a day of sacks from Santa Von.
