Following a disappointing loss to Mississippi State, the Aggies ended the weekend on a high note on the recruiting trail when Dallas Kimball four-star linebacker Devodrick Johnson announced his commitment to Texas A&M. If his name sounds familiar, it’s because Johnson originally committed to the Aggies in July. But less than one month later, he de-committed in the wake of the sexist presentations at Texas A&M’s “Chalk Talk” womens clinic, which became national news.
Johnson was rumored to be favoring the Longhorns for a time (LOL), but re-committed to the Aggies on Sunday evening.
Thank you to all my family, friends and fans that stayed true but now I’m committed to... https://t.co/ojsPLbUiaB pic.twitter.com/XKC8uQfXiR

The 6’2”, 200-pound Johnson is ranked as the 21st-best outside linebacker in the country and the 43rd-best player in Texas according to 247 Sports. He is the 22nd commit in Texas A&M’s 2017 recruiting class and becomes the Aggies’ second commit at linebacker, joining IMG Academy’s Santino Marchiol.
