Preview/GameThread: Texas A&M vs #14 UCLA

The Aggies look to gain a huge resume-building victory and Wooden Legacy Championship as they take on the high-scoring UCLA Bruins on ESPN.

Friday evening, Texas A&M achieved the largest comeback of the Billy Kennedy era overcoming a 17-point deficit to defeat Virginia Tech. Now the Ags have a shot to turn some heads in the college basketball world facing off on prime-time ESPN against #14 UCLA. A victory tonight not only would help the Ags' tournament resume, but make a statement that there's another team to look out for in the SEC.

Time: 7:30pm

Location: Fullerton, CA

TV: ESPN

Name: UCLA Bruins

Conference: Pac-12

Rank: 14th

Notes: Currently are 2nd in the country in PPG (100.7) and 1st in assists (25). The Bruins have yet to score less than 80 points so far this season and move the ball at a rapid-fire pace.

Player to watch: Lonzo Ball. The freshman from Chino Hills, CA is engine that runs the ship, averaging 16 points, 9 assists, and 5 rebounds a game. Standing at 6'6, Ball can create quite the mismatch on both sides of the ball. It will be interesting how Kennedy uses his backcourt to slow down the dynamic freshman.

The Aggies faced another high-scoring offense in Virginia Tech and ended up holding the Hokies to their lowest scoring total of the season. UCLA contains a little more firepower, making the Ags unable to take any possession off. If the Aggies are able to come out on top, a future match-up against Arizona could give this young squad a chance to earn two high-profile victories over two of the top teams in the Pac-12.
