Aggie Hoops adds four-star guard Jay Jay Chandler

Rumors of our recruiting demise were greatly exaggerated, as the latest recruit pushed A&M’s 2017 recruiting ranking to 14th

Mark D. Smith-USA TODAY Sports

Y’all... next year’s recruiting class is really shaping up.

Meet Jay Jay Chandler, the third four-star recruit of the 2017 class, the fourth recruit overall, and fifth recruit (if you count currently-ineligible JJ Caldwell - which I certainly do) that will be new to the lineup next year and busting down the door for playing time.

This addition provides even more backcourt depth for a class that honestly might not need it. For the first time in maybe a decade, 2017-2018 Texas A&M will simply have more talented guards than they have minutes.

It's a great problem to have, and if we don't have any transfer attrition we've got a recruiting pipeline that can provide a "top half" SEC floor for years. With a pretty dang high ceiling.

The long-term health of the program is looking good.
