Aggie Football Recruiting: Down the stretch they come.

With a coaching staff suddenly in flux, and the high school All-Star games all wrapped up, what happens to the A&M recruiting class between now and signing day?

There's probably a hat ceremony going on somewhere in this picture.

Well, not much has transpired since we last checked in on the state of Texas A&M recruiting except for:

  • A crushing season-ending loss to LSU.
  • The transfer of A&M’s starting quarterback.
  • The transfer of A&M’s backup quarterback.
  • A crushing bowl loss to Louisville.
  • The firing of the Athletic Director.
  • The hiring of a new Athletic Director.
  • The A&M Chancellor channeling Nas, if only ‘Ether’ was written by a supremely angry 4th grade girl.
  • The firing of Jake Spavital.
  • The hiring of Doug Meechum Doug Michum Douglas Meacham Chip Kelly Noel Mazzone.

So with all of the, ah, excitement surrounding the program, who is still legitimately available that the Aggies are pursuing as the dead period ends? Check out TexAgs' redesigned recruiting pages for more information on offers.

Quarterback

Nick Starkel – The one-time Oklahoma State commit is a big fan of new Offensive Coordinator Noel Mazzone.

Dillon Sterling-Cole

Dillon Sterling-Cole

Son of Aggie Wide Receiver Chris Cole, ‘DSC’ is currently committed to Arizona St., but A&M is making a late push. View his recruiting profile on TexAgs.

Wide Receiver

Quartney Davis – Can a new offensive staff get the former A&M commit interested in the Aggies again?

Tyrie Cleveland – A teammate of Dillon Sterling-Cole, A&M appears to be the one place the twosome might end up together. The number one wide receiver in the state, Cleveland would compete for a starting job on day one.

Clyde Chriss – The New Orleans speedster seems to be leaning more towards A&M as of late.

Offensive Line

Patrick Hudson – Yet another former A&M commit, the massive tackle prospect has a lot of questions for the Aggies (like who is going to be coaching his position) but he sounds open to taking a College Station visit in January.

Defensive Line

Ross Blacklock – Thought by many to be an A&M lean, the big defensive tackle picked Gary Patterson and the Horned Frogs at the Army All-American game, leaving the Aggies scrambling to find another body at DT.

D’Andre Christmas-Giles – Could the awesomely named tackle take Blacklock’s spot?

Linebacker

Jeffrey McCulloch –

This Texas/Texas A&M battle is going to come down to the very end. See where the TexAgs recruiting staff thinks he will land.

Cornerback

Byron Murphy – Will the Arizona run continue? The Scottsdale product is still considering A&M, but seems to be leaning towards playing on the West Coast.

Parish Cobb – Approximately 8 months after all of A&M Twitter offered the La Vega athlete, the Aggie coaches finally agreed. Might be an issue of too little, too late.

Safety

Brandon Jones

The #1 safety in the country continues to lean the Aggies way, but the A&M coaches will have to hold off the rest of the country down the stretch.
