Earlier this week, University of Texas Athletic Director Steve Patterson named Kevin Mortensen Chief of PR for UT Athletics. Mortensen brings a wealth of relevant experience to the role.

Less than one week on the job, Mortensen is wasting no time in making his mark on the UT program, starting with a fresh look to the Longhorn football uniforms.
"I've seen these uniforms in action in my previous role, and the results speak for themselves," Mortensen said. "With so few of our players getting drafted in recent years, and the declining value of a University of Texas degree, preparing our players for a service industry dress code just makes good sense."
"The pieces of flair will bring an element of excitement to an otherwise drab atmosphere at Darrell K. Royal Memorial Stadium, and the name tags have done wonders for me personally," said Head Coach Charlie Strong. "And let's face it, with this offensive line, an IHOP-themed uniform is the closest this offense is going to come to a pancake."
The uniforms will debut on Saturday, Sept. 12, against Rice, and all fans will receive a half-price app with the purchase of a hornarita. "Come hungry, leave early."
