Aggie Football: True Freshman Christian Kirk in 2015

It takes a lot to come into Texas A&M as a freshman and earn a starting spot at wide receiver. Can Christian Kirk do it?

ESPN fashionista, Texas A&M beat reporter, and friend of GBH Sam Khan Jr. posted a great article about Freshman WR Christian Kirk today.

HOUSTON -- Receiver has been a position of strength for Texas A&M in recent years and 2015 should be no different.

Christian Kirk, a 5-star wide receiver out of Arizona, was listed on Aggie Football's post-Spring depth chart as a starter. This generated plenty of internet chatter with a true freshman potentially breaking into a starting role at a position of strength. Khan shared some illuminating quotes from A&M's offensive coordinator Jake Spavital, including:

"He watches just as much tape as I do," Spavital said. "He'll tell me that he watched 100 clips of something every single day. Most kids don't do that, especially at the freshman level. He comes in, he's doing extra in the weight room, he's out there running routes every single day, he's a gym rat. When you look at the kid and the approach that he has, you can see why he was one of the top [recruits] in the country."
