Update: Click here to vote in the next round!
The play-in winners have been decided and we now have the field of 64! I received a lot of angry messages about snubs so I'd like to take a moment to recognize some bubble restaurants: Gumby's, Mr. G's, Shannon's, Chipotle, Sodolaks, Casa Rodriguez, and others. You are great.

Congratulations to Potbelly, Jesse's Taqueria, Shiraz Shish Kabob, and Sbisa for making the field. Now let's move onto business.
South Region Background
The South region is stout and has been recognized by many analysts as the most difficult quarter of the bracket. Below you will be able to vote on each matchup, but first let's check in with our favorite insane Yelp reviewer Greg D. to learn more about these competitors.
1 Layne's (106 Walton Dr): Did you know Layne's has added a new Club to their menu? I didn't. But I will most certainly go there and get another one.
16 Potbelly (409-B University Dr): Our opinion of Potbelly went up recently. (Not enough for 4 stars as it is a chain)
8 The Potato Shack (3011 Church Street): Creating a new list just for this, Best Breakfast Burrito on Northgate. (I think it's the only one... lol)
9 Raising Cane's (1045 Texas Ave S): Oops! How do you mess up chicken fingers with improper prep? Wife and I both ate here last week and both got heartburn and upset stomach.
5 Chick-Fil-A (1719 Texas Ave. S.): Really odd place to eat. Aside from the fact that none of them are open on Sundays, when open this place is very busy. I guess I just don't get it.
12 Taz Indian Cuisine (2146 Texas Ave S): Spinach and Goat Cheese curry and rice were outstanding!
4 Torchy's Tacos (1037 Texas Ave South): I just keep ordering the Crossroads. Can't seem to get away from that one as it's a really lip smacking bbq sensation that you can taste for hours later and enjoy licking your lips.
13 The Remnant from Nawlins (604 Holleman Dr): 5 Stars for Unique, one of the newest and apparently most authentic New Orleans Style places. -1 Star for no seating. -1 Star for no meat or ingredients in the "Gumbo".
6 Harvey Washbangers (1802 Texas Ave S): The burger was very greasy which was fine, it just made it slippery and hard to hold onto. The Sheila Partin sourdough bread from Houston (which I pegged and they confirmed it) was able to soak up a lot of the grease yet the bread is just a tad too much for me and should have been warmer overall.
11 40 Tempura (2551-D Texas Ave S): The service, atmosphere, music, lighting and food quality do make this the best destination for Japanese in Brazos Valley. Perfect for dates.
3 Hullabaloo Diner (15045 Fm 2154 Rd): Here we found some excellent locally made pies, they said that they are taking pre-orders for the holidays. These pies rocked! Had no idea Hullabaloo's had World class deserts.
14 Jason's Deli (1404 Texas Ave S): So, we were very happy to see that we could get a real Dr. Pepper. And along with that theme we discovered that they have nice quality food and sandwiches which are also free of corn syrup and trans-fats.
7 DoubleDave's (1410 Texas Ave S): The cutsie name that implies that something is better as in doubled is false. There are no double toppings in fact this pizza sucks twice as much as Dominos used to.
10 Pita Pit (2008 S Texas Ave): I guess the Pita thing just isn't my cup of tea. Remembering when Pita's got popular like in the '80's when America "discovered" pita bread I'm really surprised a chain like this has lasted so long.
2 Koppe Bridge (11777 Fm 2154 Rd): Wonderful quality beef cooked through perfectly, fresh fluffy cloud like bun, that was toasted on the downside with butter (like I do my own). Cheese was real and rich, bacon was actually thick sliced and I dare say I think they smoked it there.
15 Hungry Howie's (105 SW Pkwy): The pizza here is not the best you can find in this area.
