On National Signing Day, 2015 four-star linebacker Roquan Smith (Montezuma, GA) committed to UCLA. However, before he faxed in his letter of intent, Smith learned that UCLA defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich is likely to join the Atlanta Falcons staff.

Smith re-opened his recruitment and is expected to reach a decision "in a week or so." If Ulbrich does leave UCLA, Smith may reconsider Texas A&M, Georgia, and Michigan. The Aggies could really use a linebacker as talented as Smith in this signing class, so this would be quite a coup for John Chavis.
