IT'S AWARDS SEASON! The Aggie Football team held its team banquet last night and honored outstanding members. Drew Kaser was awarded the Coach's Choice award (ha ha, eat it Ray Guy Award Committee). Tra Carson was named Offensive MVP. Myles Garrett earned Defensive MVP and Sam Moeller took Special Teams MVP honors. The most prestigious honor, The Heart Award, was earned by Brandon Williams. The Heart award is given to "a senior who has completed his eligibility and displays the intangibles such as effort, desire, determination, competitiveness, leadership and courage." All of the winners are deserving players, so great job.
LEO! Those who frequent Aggie Baseball games should be familiar with the man to whom Olsen owes its beauty, Leo Goertz. His passing earlier this week was very sad news for Olsen regulars and the Aggie Family. This week several charities have set up donations in his honor, including the American Heart Association and the SportsTurf Managers Association. If you would also like to personally donate, the Texas SportsTurf Management Association has set up a link to donate to a scholarship in Leo's name here.
EX-BIG 12 MATCH UP. Kansas State makes its way to College Station today to play the Aggie Men's Basketball team. Billy Kennedy has never beaten the Wildcats, but this just might be his year. The broadcast will begin at 4:30 PM on the SEC Network.
BASKETBALL ALL DAY. Before the K-State match up, the Women's Basketball team will be playing #17 DePaul. Sounds like a great day to just sit in Reed and watch some great bouncyball shootyhoops action. The game begins at 2 PM on the SEC Network.
