Texas A&M players and head coach, Kevin Sumlin, met with members of the media to discuss the 23-3 loss to Ole Miss. Starting quarterback Kyle Allen looked like he was in a funk all evening, and the coaching staff showed a refusal to put in someone else until late in the game.
There has been speculation on whether or not Kyler Murray had an issue with the coaching staff during the Alabama game that led to him being punished in this game. Sumlin states that the decision of who to play at QB was based solely on this week's practice.
We asked Sumlin if not playing Kyler Murray was a disciplinary issue and he said, "It was just based on practice."— TexAgs (@TexAgs) October 25, 2015
Needless to say, the Texas A&M offense is fractured at this point. Whether or not it can be repaired will depend squarely on the quarterback position. If tonight's decisions were based solely on giving A&M the best chance to win, then it's safe to assume there is no quick fix in sight.
