Kenny Hill erupted on the national scene in the opening game of college football in 2014 as he led the Aggies past the Gamecocks with an unreal performance in his first start. After issues both on and off the field caused him to lose the starting spot to true freshman Kyle Allen, many Aggie fans wondered what the future held for Hill. As of late tonight, word is starting to leak out that Hill has been granted his release from the program and is free to transfer.

This leaves Kevin Sumlin and the Aggies with one scholarship quarterback on the roster, and a sudden major concern with depth at the position. All-everything Allen HS quarterback Kyler Murray is committed to the Aggies in the 2015 class, but the MLB draft is lurking in the background and threatening to steal another highly ranked quarterback from Coach Sumlin (see Kohl Stewart). National Signing Day is February 4th, so it will be an interesting few weeks in the wild world of recruiting.
