Phil Steele released his pre-season selections yesterday, and they include plenty of Ags on the All-SEC Team.
The Texas A&M representatives include three first-teamers, one from each phase of the game. Cedric Ogbuehi anchors what many believe is one of the top offensive lines in the country. He's projected to be another possible top 10 draft pick at tackle, following the lead of Luke Joeckel and Jake Matthews. He'll be on plenty of lists this summer. Senior Deshazor Everett joins him at DB. Everett has long been a stalwart on a maligned Aggie defense and is a playmaker, scoring two defensive touchdowns last year while playing multiple positions in the secondary. Junior punter Drew Kaser rounds out the first-teamers. He was one of three finalists for the Ray Guy Award last year and is known around here for his popular highlight reel.
Two more Aggie offensive linemen were singled out: sophomore Germain Ifedi on the third team, and senior Jarvis Harrison on the fourth team. Both have showed good flexibility in playing multiple positions on the line. Juniors Trey Williams and De'Vante Harris were also named to the third and fourth teams respectively for their return skills.
So what do we think? Any obvious admissions? Any other players rated too highly? I think that Malcome Kennedy and Tra Carson should be in the mix somewhere, but I am not impartial, of course. Leave your suggestions in the comments.
