World Cup Weekend Open Thread (June 20-22)

We've been treated to a terrific World Cup so far, and the second weekend of the tournament gets underway today. The USA is back in action against Portugal on Sunday.

Go Go USA!
Go Go USA!

Greetings, football fans! No, not that football. The round ball football that we call soccer. The 2014 FIFA World Cup is well underway now, and we've been treated to the best tournament I can remember watching. With a few exceptions (looking at you, Japan/Greece and Nigeria/Iran), virtually every game has been compelling and there have been goals aplenty. The USA got a huge win over Ghana on Monday, and the Yanks are back in action against Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal side on Sunday at 5pm. Let's chat.
