Despite rumblings about Oregon making a push, consensus five-star quarterback Kyler Murray shut it down and committed to the Aggies on Wednesday. The nation's top-ranked 2015 QB according to ESPN, Murray has been praised for his accuracy, mobility, and solid mechanics. His impressive offer list included Oregon, Texas, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Ohio State, and several others.

Kevin Sumlin and his staff look to continue the trend of signing elite QB prospects for the post-Manziel era (see Kenny Hill and Kyle Allen). Kyler Murray accounted for 46 passing and 19 rushing TDs last season while leading Allen High School to a second straight Class 5A Division I state championship. He threw for over 3,500 yards. Murray is also a talented second baseman, and told The Dallas Morning News that he intends to be a dual-sport athlete in college.
Murray's father Kevin won back-to-back conference titles and piled up individual awards as a QB at Texas A&M in the 80s. Kevin's most memorable game may be his offensive MVP performance in a Cotton Bowl win over Auburn and Heisman Trophy winner Bo Jackson in 1986.
