The pair of 2013 freshmen defensive starters were in a car parked in a handicapped space at Reveille Ranch Apartments near midnight on Saturday when they were approached by the police, according to the Bryan-College Station Eagle. Golden was found with under 2 oz. of marijuana, and Claiborne was arrested for a noise violation. 2014 commit and early enrollee WR Speedy Noil was also in the vehicle, but he was not charged and was released at the scene.
Both players have been immediately suspended from the team pending a more thorough investigation, per the Athletic Department's policy. Claiborne missed the Chick-fil-A Bowl after a December 22 arrest for possession of marijuana, although Saturday's noise violation is considered a misdemeanor.
