Here's a dirty little secret: A&M has played some decent basketball at home in conference play. The road hasn't treated us very well, but we have two opportunities within 72 hours to improve on our 4-1 home conference slate. Let's keep it rolling and try to build a winning streak at the GBH meetup.
All Average Everything
The 4-8 Crimson Tide fall between 5th and 10th in just about every conference category of note, making them a very very SEC squad indeed. This is a tough concept to handle for us Aggie faithful used to seeing ALL OF THE DEFENSIVE STATISTICS and none of the offensive statistics but the Bammers appear to be somewhat well rounded.
Quick Start... Lately, Not So Much
Alabama did their best Texas A&M impression in SEC play, jumping out to a surprising 2-1 start before deciding to completely fall apart. Most recently, the Tide are 1-5 in their last six and have yet to register a road SEC victory. In fact, with the exception of a recent nail-bater at South Carolina their conference road travels really haven't been competitive at all. Let's look for a chance to jump on them early.
The Senior Guard does just about everything for this squad, leading the team in minutes per game (34), PPG (19), APG (2.9), SPG (2.2), 3PT shooting (40%), and FT shooting (90%).
Oh, and he's scored 27, 26, and 25 points in his last three games. Dude runs the show.
Given the Bama road form, we'll be fine if we keep him at or below his average. But if he blows up and keeps the Tide in the game late... well, let's just say we aren't the best at closing out winnable games.
