Texas A&M punter and Heisman Trophy hopeful Drew Kaser was snubbed by the Ray Guy Award on Tuesday, being left off the list of finalists. Three punters you have never heard of were named finalists instead.
In 2013, Kaser was one of three finalists for the award, but somehow the first-team SEC player did not win. Kaser was honored as a 2013 first-team All-American by The Sporting News and Sports Illustrated.
This season, Kaser has punted 51 times for an average of 44.4 yards. His longest punt of 60 yards came during Texas A&M's 41-38 road upset over the Auburn Tigers. Kaser was named National Punter of the Week following that game which he effectively won single-handed. As of the time this article was published, we are unsure how Kaser's stats stack up against the 2014 Ray Guy Award finalists because we are done looking at punting stats.
Here is a 2013 Drew Kaser punting highlight video with explicit rap music.
