CLEAR SHARP + FULLHART = CANT LOSE. Chancellor John Sharp continued to emphatically support Johnny Manziel yesterday. Mr. Sharp talked with KBTX's Steve Fullhart and gave us this breath taking quote:
I know he's innocent. I know that he didn't do what they accused him of doing, and I think that it's time that we, once we knew what the facts are and we know the facts...and I've seen what everybody else has seen now, and the rest of the country is going to get to see that before it's over with. It was a bunch of hype journalism.
That's some big talk. Sharp wants people to remember that this is Texas, and in Texas no sin is greater than being a chickenshit and he is anything but that.
A FAREWELL TO ARM. Matt Davis has decided to transfer after apparently coming up short in the battle for backup quarterback. You can read more about it here. As always, GBH tries to keep you updated. Taylor Hamm is reporting that Davis will transfer to Tyler Junior College. Happy trails, Matt. You were the original leader of the #AGGSWAG movement and stuck with the Ags after Sherman was canned. We won't forget your great attitude and love of A&M. Once an Aggie, always an Aggie.
GO AHEAD, KEEP STOKING THAT FIRE. The SEC Coaches announced their Preseason All-SEC picks with the only notable thing being that the SEC's single season offensive record holder and returning Heisman Trophy winner was relegated to the 2nd team. The Manziel fire burns hot, boys; be careful you don't get burned even worse now.
A YEAR AGO TODAY. Lets take a look back at where the Aggies were a year ago today. Coach Sumlin and Co. had a press conference and addressed the upcoming game against La. Tech, the promise of a young new quarterback, and the rigors of fall camp. Who could have foreseen the ride we about to embark on?
ETC. It's the final Friday before football. The deep breath before the plunge. If you have a chance don't forget to learn about A&M's 2014 offensive line recruiting. Also, we love fanposting and TelcoAg chimes in with a pointed reminder that the Teo scandal can shed light on ESPN's present vendetta against Johnny Manziel.
Eight more days. Grind through today and enjoy your weekend, Ags. Mack Brown wants you to keep it trill'.
