Our BFFs over on Red Cup Rebellion have an article called HATE WEEK: Texas A&M. We know they do this every week, but it really hurt our feelings. You see, Aggies are hospitable people who will say "Howdy" if we pass you on the street in the 1970s. It's not in our nature to hate you (unless your school happens to also be in the state of Texas). Let's ignore the impulse to heckle the unfamiliar in overtly hateful ways, and embrace our opponents from Ole Miss this week.

Our top 10 favorite things about Mississippi

1. Traditions: Did you know Mississippi didn't ratify the 13th amendment outlawing slavery until this year? These guys really know how to hold onto the past.
2. Conference Pride: Ole Miss makes other SEC universities like the University of Alabama seem enlightened and progressive.
3. Financial Support: We have made a lot of money betting the under on everything Ole Miss does in athletics and academics (bet the over on chromosomes).
4. Equality: Ole Miss has elected not to punish any players, black or white, who used gay slurs to verbally harass actors during a production of The Laramie Project.
5. Commitment: Mississippi is fully dedicated to morbid obesity, abject poverty, intolerance, poor education, and the Manning family.
6. Comfort: Pascagoula has provided a place for Beaumont residents to be glad to get home from for years.
7. Fellowship: Look at all of those consecutive letters in Mississippi... "ss", "ss", "pp", "kkk"
8. Advancement of the Arts: Some of the greatest American writers hail from Mississippi despite being last in literacy.
9. Temperance: They consistently resist hedonic pleasures like winning football games.
10. Conservation: Four wheelers average 30-50 mpg compared to an average car's 17 mpg.
