#21: Steven Terrell

Our sendoff to the great senior class continues.

Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

Steven Terrell out of Allen, Texas was one seven true freshman that saw action in each of the Aggies’ games for the 2009 season. Lovers of Aggie football are well-versed with Terrell’s career and what he has meant to the program. Steven contributed at corner early then developed into a reliable safety as his career progressed. He answered the bell in prime fashion when special teams’ duties presented themselves.

Most importantly, Steven Terrell is the epitome of a student-athlete. He has been a perennial first-team all-conference academic selection since his sophomore year. Earning an excellent degree from Texas A&M has always been a priority for Terrell, and he has led the way in this aspect.

Steven Terrell has seen tons of on-field action for four years. A renowned sound tackler, Terrell was also a ball-hawk with picks and forced fumbles. His senior year saw him start in all 13 games with 37 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 2 INTs, and 2 forced fumbles.

Steven Terrell weathered many of the tumultuous times in the program and was not only an anchor with the team, but with this senior class in particular.

Best game: 2012 Arkansas.

This game was a boat race from the jump, but Terrell was all over the field taking advantage. Steven tallied six tackles, but he also had two picks in three quarters of play for a total of 58 yards. Aggie fans have long craved for an opportunistic safety, and Steven Terrell became that man after originally starting as a corner.
