Texas Aggie Recruiting Update

Texas A&M's 2013 class currently sits at 28 commits. With only a few spots left open, we look at the latest movement from some Aggie targets.

Caleb Benenoch

The 6'5" 320 pound offensive lineman from Katy Seven Lakes recently told Taylor Hamm of GigEm247.com that the Ags didn't make his most recent list of a final four schools. According to Benenoch, he wants to announce at the end of the season after taking some more visits and the Aggie staff wasn't prepared to wait. To be honest, I was surprised the Aggies stayed in the hunt this long. Caleb is a guard at the next level and the Aggies need a tackle. Preferably a talented JUCO to step in and compete for a starting job immediately if Luke Joeckel or Jake Mathews decides to leave early for the NFL draft.

Reggie Chevis

The biggest news of the week was Houston Sharpstown linebacker Reggie Chevis is going to graduate in December and enroll early at Texas A&M. As we discussed in this GBH article, because the Aggies didn't take a full 25 man class in 2012, they are allowed to count back early enrollees towards that class and keep those spots open for May graduates. Chevis will be the Ags fifth December graduate, joining Kennedale linebacker Brett Wade, Little Cyprus-Mauriceville athlete Alex Sezer, Rockwall Heath defensive end Jordan Points, and JUCO defensive tackle Rob Zimmerman.

Ricky Seals-Jones

As the Aggies' top target works to get back on the field after dislocating his knee, future Aggie quarterback Kohl Stewart offered his support.

@RickySealsJones I appreciate that man hit me up if you make a trip to Aggieland would love to talk to you a little bit more

The top 2013 player in Texas getting love from two current Aggie commits and Johnny F*cking Football himself has to have Aggies excited about this recruitment. Coach Sumlin ballin out in his Swaggcopter and LSU looking pitiful offensively also doesn't hurt. Ricky will be in College Station for his official visit on October 20 as his two top teams, the Aggies and the Bayou Bengals, battle on Kyle Field.
