In ESPN's latest Bracketology projections, they slot Texas A&M as a 5-seed, taking on Akron in the Midwest Region (with a potential rematch with Baylor in the Sweet 16).
The Aggies have climbed steadily in these rankings over the past month, bolstered last week by gutsy road wins at Mississippi State and Tennessee. With an RPI ranking of 13 and a 3-1 record against other teams in the RPI top 50, A&M is extremely well-positioned to make the tournament for first time in the Billy Kennedy era (and the first time since joining the SEC).
The Aggies return home this week to take on the Florida Gators at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 12, at Reed Arena. Riding a six-game winning streak, I guess you could say there's reason for excitement in Aggieland.
