My Ramblings - Week Four

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

Due to all of the recent grumblings around our offense, I considered where these feelings may be emanating from. It brings to mind our game from 2012 against Mississippi State. That game was JFF's first time to shine on the big stage.

Johnny changed all of us A&M fans forever that day. We saw what a superhuman QB could do in an A&M uniform. And now, three years later, we are still struggling to cope with A&M football without him. So I thought I would pen all of you a little song, to help us get through these times of question concerning our offense. Thanks to Barry Manilow for writing the perfect background piece for my song..."Oh Johnny".

(Shooter sits down on the bench, and places a bouquet of maroon and white roses on top of the piano)

I remember the Sherm years
All the losses stoked my fears
A shadow of a coach
A buffet through a window
Crying in the night
The night goes into

Morning, just another day
The famed 12th Man pass my way
Looking in their eyes
I see a memory
I never realized
How happy you made me, oh Johnny

Well you came and you scored without taking
But Nate sent you away, oh Johnny
Well you amazed me and stopped me from shaking
And I need you today, oh Johnny

I'm standing in the new Kyle Field
My B-A-S may never heal
Caught up in a world where our offense seems boring
The tears are in my eyes
And Spav isn't scoring, oh Johnny

Well you came and you scored without taking
But Nate sent you away, oh Johnny
Well you amazed me and stopped me from shaking
And I need you today, oh Johnny

Yesterday's a dream
Now I face the CLANGING
So many damn cowbells
My head is banging, oh Johnny

Well you came and you scored without taking
But Nate sent you away, oh Johnny
Well you amazed me and stopped me from shaking
And I need you today, oh Johnny

Well you came and you scored without taking
But Nate sent you away, oh Johnny
Well you amazed me and stopped me from shaking
And I need you...
