Goertz started his association with Aggie athletics in 1978 as a student baseball trainer and manager under the tutelage of Aggie and training mentor Billy Pickard. Goertz became a legend among Aggie baseball fans as the man behind the pristine playing surface at Olsen Field. He will be greatly missed.
Leo Goertz was a good and generous man and coworker as well as a great asset to Texas A&M Athletics. Thank you, Leo. You will be missed.
