My Admittedly Late Open Letter to Johnny Manziel

With all signs pointing towards JFF declaring for the draft in the next couple of days, I figure I should finally write my open letter to Johnny.

Johnny. I do not want your autograph. I don't want to take a picture with you. I just want to tell you one thing which never seems to get said enough. Thank you.

Thank you for the best two years of Fightin' Texas Aggie football I've ever seen. Thank you for beating Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Thank you for beating the crap out of the Big 12 in the Cotton Bowl. Thank you for the Heisman trophy. Thank you for putting Texas A&M back on the map.

I remember years of miserable Saturday nights as my Ags received another heartbreaking, gut-wrenching loss, and trudging in to school Monday morning with my Aggie shirt on to face the jeers from my peers in orange. Thank you for the end of those days for me and school kids everywhere.

Johnny Manziel, you have done something that, to the best of my knowledge, no other Aggie player has ever done. You have captured the heart and soul of every Aggie and, astonishingly, every American who's not a teasip (pretty much).

I always argue that "I don't care what team you root for, you cannot deny the FACT that Johnny Manziel is the best college football player in at least the past ten years." And I'm right. Maybe not all the stats are in your favor, but when it comes down to pure athleticism, energy, and the ability to make everyone collectively go " OH MY GOD HOW DID HE JUST DO THAT OH MY GOD REWIND THE DVR". Rock on, Johnny Manziel.

I'm not going to beg you to stay, nor will I beg you to go. It's your decision. Either way, the 12th Man will be behind you, the least we could do for the player who has done so much for us.

Thanks, And Gig'em
