Women's bouncy ball looks to avoid a Gator trap

The #11 Texas A&M Women's Basketball returns to Reed arena to face the Lady Crocodili mississippiensis at 8PM CST tonight. The Ags are on a 7 game winning streak and can move into a tie with the injury-depleted Lady Vols with a win. Sunday's road win at S. Carolina was a triumphant return for Kelsey Bone, who was boo'ed by the crowd every time she touched the ball. KB flashed a misinterpreted Gig'em at the Gamecock fans after scoring the winning bucket on a putback with 8 seconds to go. SEC Freshman of the Week Courtney Walker disrupted the final desparation play.

Avoiding a letdown is only one reason to worry a bit about tonight's game against Florida:

  • The temptation to look ahead to the Big Monday opportunity to get revenge for last month's loss at Kentucky
  • Florida coach Amanda Butler has given the Gators some extra motivation by making it personal: The Ags ended her career as a player in the old Holler House in the first round of the 1994 NCAA tourney
  • It's Valentine's day.
