Darian Claiborne Arrested on Possession Charges

Peter G. Aiken-USA TODAY Sports

Starting Texas A&M middle linebacker Darian Claiborne was arrested on charges of possession of less than 2 oz. of marijuana and possession of a dangerous drug (typically defined as prescription drugs such as Xanax or Valium that aren't included in the Texas Health and Safety Code Schedules).

It is unconfirmed at the time of this post whether other members of the Texas A&M football team were involved.

With the Chick-fil-A Bowl only several days away, we are unsure how this arrest may affect his status for the game, but similar conduct has previously resulted in suspensions for Texas A&M players.

UPDATE: Darian Claiborne has been suspended for the Chick-fil-A Bowl and will not travel with the team.
